Subject: Flexi, not for me thanks, but that is with two young dogs
In reply to: Marlene 's message, "Using a Flexi - it's a "too"" on 13:22:50 08/07/07 Tue

One dog [Ellie] is VERY prey driven, and wants to chase anything that skitters [and that includes small, barking lap yappers that I swear must be flipping her the bird by her reaction to them] and Mr. Two years old on Saturday that just wants to play with everything that moves. Sigh.

When I have to walk them together we are on a solid leather, 6' leash, with double handles, and both dogs have Gentle Leaders on. Lets just say that getting dragged across some streets in Milford could get everyone killed and cause a HUGE auto accident!!!!! =:o)

When it was Tiger and Ellie, Flexi worked fine. Ellie would never pull Tiger and his last couple of years his idea of walking was a 'stroll', and his personality trumped Ellie's prey drive so a flexi with a coupler was great. What can I say, Times change with the critters you are walking!!!

Loved the article though - They must be used with a large dose of caution and common sense!!! =:o)
