People people another Tuesday and another update on Donkey!! the only team that is made up of members from the Jimmy Nail fan club, sadly Jimmy couldn't be there to cheer us on yestrday as he was so disgusted with last weeks performance. But anyway Jim, last night, we did you proud, as we all know a new season has now started and all you can ask for from the first game is a win and that's what we got. Spurred on by George the yorkshire terrier and Christophe McCool back from their pre-season break, Donkey!! recorded an impressive 8-5 victory over local rivals Red Eye.
This weeks celebrity referee was none other than 'comedian' Junior Simpson, quite apt as most of his decisions were laughable. (Boom Boom) Highlights of the match included the new 'your not aloud to touch anyone' rule introduced by Mr Simpson and the 8 man brawl triggered by Mr Mulvaney sporting his (fairly) new cropped hair do, but all fears of a free for all were brough to an end when 'giant' George stepped in to break things up. As well as all this, Goalkeeping extrodanaire Dan Ellis swapped his gloves for a place on pitch. Apart from all this I think a special mention must go to Kholyn Brindell for his heriocs in between the sticks in the second half, only conceding one goal, compared to 'professional 'keeper' Ellis who conceded 4! Well done mate. Final Score Donkey!! 8-5 Red Eye
