Jimmy Nail - Apology

HarperCollins published an unauthorised biography about Jimmy Nail written by Geraint Jones. In fact, the book contained inaccuracies and false allegations about Mr Nail's childhood, his family life and professional life.

Following a complaint by Jimmy Nail and his issuing of legal proceedings, Geraint Jones and HarperCollins now accept that the allegations complained of are untrue and without foundation. Further they have agreed not to republish them, have apologised publicly and agreed to pay damages.

The book has been removed from sale and any persons who may still be offering it for sale should either immediately destroy the book or return it to HarperCollins.

Both HarperCollins and Mr Jones wish to take this opportunity to apologise both unreservedly to Mr Nail and his family for any distress and embarrassment caused.
