Since we really don't tend to separate more general discussions from those related to a particular badfic - how often have threads on, say, a Suefic turned into discussions on the most annoying features of Mary Sues? - I'm not seeing why the two should be treated differently. The only useful distinction to be made here is on a forum which worked in the style of the InvisionFree one, where we could have 'New Releases' and 'Why, God, Why?' subcategories.

And I really don't see how there would be any difference in the types of discussion boards which would suit those. You said that a Voy-style board would be vastly better for 'information' - um, how? I don't recall the 'New Releases' subcategory working any differently from the 'Why, God, Why?' one in that regard.
