It's okay � I'm not looking for one. If Hellfire04 had posted the above message about a week ago, I would have wholeheartedly echoed your "hear, hear" sentiments, Bitchy Queen of Fanfiction. This thing is, people have, for the most part, stopped bickering; people have stopped pointing fingers of blame at each other; people have stopped engaging in a bitchfest/acting like raving fangirls; people are finding some badfic and discussing it. To me, Hellfire04's post ran the risk of raking up old muck. I used to moderate a message board, and on several occasions flame wars were restarted by well-intentioned people continuing to stick their oars in several days after the flame war had ended. By "putting nails into coffins" I just meant "let sleeping dogs lie". If Hellfire04 asks questions like "What happened to the good old days?" and "What happened to the spirit of GAFF?" then he/she runs the risk of somebody replying with something along the lines of "Person X took over the board and ruined it", possibly cueing another flamewar. Fortunately, this didn't happen, and, with hindsight, I shouldn't have made the above post, which rather makes me look a complete tit.

Again, I agree completely with what Hellfire04 said, it's just that I think what he said was posted seven or so days too late. Whilst this message board has hardly returned to Hellfire04's "good old days", it is at least facing in the right direction--the long, long flame-y threads have disappeared off the first page of this message board, where I hope they will stay; people are posting and discussing badfic. It doesn�t matter if Hellfire04�s questions like "What happened to the good old days?" were rhetorical, it could only take one person to say "Person X and his/her cronies ruined the old spirit of GAFF" and you could have a return to circular bickering. Let sleeping dogs lie � that's what I was trying to say. I regret any offence I might have caused.

Anyway, I�m returning to lurkerdom now, and probably won't bother this board again.
