I've visited BIS a couple of times. My wife is from Mandan, so when we go back to visit her family, I usually swing by the tower and talk shop. It is slow, but friendly people, good relationship with management, and it seems they are pretty content. 40 miles of airspace, up to 15,000ft, class D airport, slow traffic. Mix of Commercial, GA, and military helicopters. Although the city of Bismarck is growing, perhaps traffic will pick in the next 5-10 years. I'd like to get there one day when I'm burned out of ZTL and learn the tower/approach side of the job (if they aren't consolidated or contracted by then).

I contacted them from what I found by just searching on the web. Check with GB for contacts.

Cheers
