Ther air line that goes between the front shocks is a aassembly with a collar that goes around each front fork connected by the metal airline. The air line input hose from the right side where you put in the air for the front forks is connected to the right side collar. On the shock tube itself there is a hole that needs to be lined up with the hole in the collar so it will receive air properly. When pulling out the shock from the triple tree & collars care must be taken not to damage the collar assembly as it may hve corrosion and be hard to break free. IMPORTANT!!! There is a spring clip on the shock that must be removed before pulling the shouk down. It looks like the spring clip under the brass cap that you saw. That cap must be pushed down either with a lever or a large phillips screwdriver and a lot of pressure, Then pick out the spring clip with a pick and slowly let the brass cap come up with the spring and filter and spacer, You will also have to pick these out. unless it has "Proggesive Springs" (aftermarket springs) in it then it will have no parts in the tubes.. https://www.kawasakiepc.com/SystemSearch_Frames.cfm?QuickSearch=1&SearchFor=ZG1200%2DB17&SearchBy=Model&cGroupID=&CFID=7272866&CFTOKEN=32822639 see if you can get to this page on the Kawaski parts diagram website. pn# 92033 A & b are the 4 spring clips and 92059 is the collar assy.
