What is condition of battery & connections? If battery sits and gets to low to engage and turnover starter & engine. It could do this, battery is weak or bad connection, and when engine is warm & has a litle charge from alt it may be able to start itbecause of less resistance, Could be starter clutch inside engine is bad, Could be a bad wire or connection/ ground in the starter system or starter switch. First do a load test on battery and see if is a strong battery, When it does not start check the load. Simple test would be to use horn when it won't start, if horn is weak battery is bad. Second : Follow wire from starter to where it grounds to engine or frame, Third bypass switch. Most important would be to call Carl Leo he can walk you through some checks. 713-413-8666. He knows the XII better than anyone and will help you out. e-mail: voyagerparts@bellsouth.net Good luck and let us know what you find..
