Depends on the bike... My '95 looks showroom as far as the paint. It has maybe one small scratch that was touched up but is immaculate otherwise. New tires, brakes, carbs, master cylinder, progressive suspension, and only 43,000 miles on the entire bike. In order to find one in as good of shape as mine is in, I'll spend $5000 easily. Newer ones don't interest me personally seeing how the pretty much looked the same for quite done time. With the $2000 I'll spend it will esentially have a rebuilt motor and transmission. So in my opinion it is worth it on my bike. However, an 80's one maybe not unless you love the bike and plan on keeping it. My bike however will go back on the road. It's way too nice to part out or let rot.
