Here is my theory on babies.. I don't think you can spoil them as babies. I held and rocked mine for a long time. Do you have a baby swing (automatic one?) They love to swing. If you get one that swings forward, baby sits comfortably in it.
My sister in law in Colorado suggested putting the baby on the floor (put a bedspread or large blanket down first) and sitting there with them. They learn to crawl and walk that way. It is all part of the learning process. I placed toys on the blanket for my daughter and she would reach for them.
The reaching was also part of the learning.
I envy you so much with your baby!! I would love to have another, but we feel very blessed by our one.
