![]() "Las Vegas... Nice to meet you." He replied to her introduction, noting how she put the distance back between them not in the least offended by the little movement. He was perfectly aware how confused she might be by his little show... Little did she now it was all perfectly possible...and in fact two creatures inhabited this one body, each serving the other, separate and the same all at once...Though that would never be of any importance to anyone...For the most part others ignored Vegas' little quirks...And he didn't mind much, he was Equine, there would never be a place for him among the lupine. Vegas stayed where he was, not about to make her anymore uncomfortable. Even if it was a little funny. From lower in the Valley came a call then...As familiar as the oxygen to his lungs...Lungs that felt like they were collapsing as soon as he heard it. He had thought he'd be fine, but today was differed and he felt himself cringe and celebrate all at once when his gaze slid away from Jaded Triumph and down to Moonlight. He told himself it was because he was up to no good, he just felt guilty because he'd scared this new addition...But no, it was more than that. Wasn't it always...? The black stallion put away his agonies, thinking himself too weak in his old age and instead calling back to the lead (as impersonally as possible) but he held his ground, thinking he'd let the others go to her first. He'd spent too much time rushing towards her when for these many years she'd needed nothing of him. Finally Vegas looked back to Jaded Triumph briefly..."Her name is Moonlight, she's a far better welcoming committee than I." A smile was offered before he moved down the hill towards Moonlight realizing that the calf-faced mare would likely be unwilling to turn her back on him. we can drive it home with one headlight
