starlight, starbright first star i see tonight wish i may wish i might that my dream comes true tonight ______________________________ The golden mare lay with her slender limbs folded neatly beneath her, beautiful green pools lidded against the rising sunrise. She was dreaming of a time long ago and a colt named Darkmoon. She remembered a hard run from Paradise Isle to Sunkissed Beach because a messenger had come for her in the midst of the War to heal a young colt that had wandered into the territory. She remembered Moon Maiden refusing to battle but instead trying to think a way around the War. She recalled the fierce light in her eldest’s eyes as she joined her companions in battle. And her dear friend Black Diamond who loved her son. Oh Shadowed Flames. Even in her sleep a tear crept down the curve of her cheek. She so wished he had remained, loved Black Diamond, and drawn his sister back out of the dark. The memories woke her up to the new day. A small sigh slipped from her mouth and a smile stole over her face.
