“He won’t. Her head was still hung low as she spoke, and she mostly mumbled into the dirt. But slowly she raised her head to stare at the mare who was taking quiet steps backwards. Then a sharp pain in her belly made her wince, and she took a sharp breath. She took a deep breath in and exhaled as slowly as possible. A golden flash flared on the horizon as a pale yellow mare appeared keeping her distance from the group for now. Maiden looked up and sighed recognizing her mother. Of course, her mother would appear just as labor pain began. But for now she would ignore the gold female knowing that Starlight would remain away unless she herself beckoned her. And she was not about to do that. Instead she turned her head to the side and took another sharp breath and a small cry escaped her mouth. |
