Another view I have heard from a few students here, that I do not necessarilly agree with, is that after four years of college and the countless hours of work and class, why are we getting a speech from another academic. The other day on campus (a month or two ago), I was able to walk over and listen to a speech given by Bishop Desmond Tutu. I have had a lecture given by Dr. George F. Bass, who pioneered the field of underwater archaeology and discovered the million-piece glass puzzle. Considering how lucky I was to have these opporunities, I expected the world for Commencement. Call it being spoiled, but I think we could do better. In reply to:
