Author: Rambacker
Subject: A high school player must qualify using the NCAA eligibility criteria, which combines SAT/ACT scores against high school GPA and has become more stringent in the last decade. If a player does not qualify under that criteria, the only way the player can otherwise qualify is to sit out a year as a Prop 48 and have 4 years of eligibility from then on. The idea is to allow the kid to get settled academically in college before he becomes eligible.
In reply to: Smoochy 's message, "Rambacker-If they attend prep school they still have to qualify through SAT or ACT, correct? If this is fact,t then the only way they are eligible is through Prop 48?" on Sat March 12, 2005 13:08:03
