You're trying to make me post over there, aren't you?

I have to ponder this, but I like your take on Peter's name explaining his denying Walter, I hadn't think of that!

As for red herring I don't know, perhaps it was just a foreshadowing poetic licence(our Ptere being confused foreshadowing 2026 Peter's disorientation), besides conveniently bringing him to New York as you pointed it out.

And yes the machine thing was a sort of crucifixion so Peter definitely is also a Christ-like figure.

BTW I thought about what the "we" in The Day We Died meant and I think it could mean, Peter, the plural refering to the two persona whom you called Peter(n-1) an Peter. It could also be a plural of majesty that, again, fits in the Christ-like figure (Christ as King).

The thing is that I am not too happy about Peter becoming that important in the series. It's Walter and Olivia who are supposed to be important. So the whole destiny talk annoyed me (besides it reminds me of LOST again!). I think that it was a mistake, along the Peter/Olivia romance that had more to do with tv conventions than anything else.

Hopefully season 4 will focuse again on Olivia and Walter!

You make a good point about the two Peters in the machine and being a Christlike figure. Peter(n-1) is then a then the "Holy Spirit" while Peter(n) is Jesus.

I think you are right about Olivia and Walter being more important in the future.... season 4 and season 5 if there is one.
