Subject: POW bracelet

Tonight I saw an ad on facebook for POW bracelets. I have my bracelet I wore in the early 70's. I wondered if "my POW" made it home. I quickly discovered that Sgt. Michael Lenker did indeed come home. I also discovered Sgt. Lenker was a door gunner on a helicopter shot down by enemy fire. This was the fate of my brother, Sgt. Dave Freeman. My brother perished in the crash. Dave was 24. Sgt. Lenker was 25. He spent 5 years as a POW. This news, although it is 38 year old information, is bittersweet. Of course, I wish my brother had also returned home It pleases me to retire your bracelet, Sgt. Lenker. It does my heart good to know you returned to your loving and supportive family. Thank you for your sacrifice.
