Subject: Medical referral denial

There is at least one physical issue that will probably affect the quality life of every veteran that has serviced this country. The care of your service-connected injuries will be directly affected by whom you choose to resolve any issues that a veteran will face in the present stage and future.

It will be equally important to look at who are superficial, misleading and will make inaccurate statements about veteran’s benefits for care. Your health care are not up for debate as mine has become.

I consider my service to this county as any veteran to be pivotal to its freedom, wealth and power. As an enlisted soldier rated 70% service-connected during the Vietnam Era and a Gulf War commissioned officer I have served faithfully only to be denied proper medical treatment.

One of the service-connected injury are for cholinergic urticarial (skin hives). The issue first developed in February 1976 during my active duty period in which I was being treated. In
December 2013, I begin to have daily chronic breakouts which required me to seek treatment in the VA emergency room twice.

The prescribed medical and ointment has not been affected however, the side effects causes drowsiness. I have been on a different prescribed medical since 2000 for skin hives which has not been effective.

Due to the continuous chronic daily breakouts I was referred to the VA dermatology clinic for further evaluation on March 3, 2014. The session did not provide any additional treatment or never medication for the hives. The doctor compared my issue to her son’s condition and unlined said “deal with the issue.”

I asked for a referral for an elevation outside the VA and was told it could not be done. On March 4, 2014 I talked with my primary care physician in hopes of getting a more professional referral to see an outside dermatology but was denied. I was asked if I had any additional insurance besides the VA during the conversation which should have no bearing.

The medical records in possession of the VA are self-explanatory as to my medical conditions which developed in fiscal year 1975. The VA is my primary care provider in which this is a service-connected injury which I am being denied treatment.

Prior to developing this condition I could engage in some activities during the winter
and summer season. The condition are affecting my job performance and affecting my social life. In addition the condition dues not allow me to be exposed to direct sunlight nor any environmental heat.

As to any questions of any support from service organizations or congressional aide it remains to be seen. They have isolated themselves but they want veterans to join and become life time members of their fan clubs and politicians expect a vote. Any additional infromation contact me at 303-249-2343. Thanks
