Subject: A Robust Feeling

"A Robust Feeling"

In a time long-ago within man's gray past
Men came for a tankard or two and rest
In the coolness of a tavern among the trees
Under the shadow of a dark castle to feel free
To talk of women, church, king and old wars
With some laughing, and other's did loudly roar.
And there was a robust feeling about the room
Therein with argument in near revolting doom
As two hagiocracies excelled each other
Over such sacraments in which each covered,
With taloned fists that were about to fly.
When above it all, a voice did cry;
Of a child above the inflamed dim:
"All teachings are correct in the Truth of Him,
Only if there is honest belief in your Love
Of the Lord; all sacraments come from Above,
And the rest is commentary before His Tomb."
And there came a robust feeling within the room.
