Subject: WILLIAM TRAVERS BORN 1720 and his son WILLIAM TRAVERS born 1745 IN WALES.

I am searching for my WILLIAM TRAVERS family in Wales. My 6th great grandfather was born in Wales in 1720. His son also WILLIAM TRAVERS was born in 1745. This William of 1745 married a woman named Mary. Her maiden name was possibly LOVE with her naming her oldest son John's middle name LOVE. They came from Scotland by ship in 1774. Mary gave birth while enroute to the United States having a baby boy also named William. He was born October 27, 1774. I do not know the entry of where this ship ported but with the direction they traveled I believe they came to Philadelphia. They moved into Huntingdon and Bedford Counties in Pa. William of 1774 took the name of TRAVIS while living here. This William married Mary Elizabeth Gahagan first wife and Frances Simms 2nd wife.
He and Mary had a son William born in 1802. At this point they moved into Indiana county in Pa. They owned a large Mill in the small towns of Dayton and Mahoning township.
William of 1802 married Jane McPherson they moved to Illinois where they died and are buried. They had a son William B. (Bash) Travis who married Eliza Kidd and Anna Marie Good-Diehl. William and Eliza had a son William born in 1853. He married Emaline Brink and Mary Jane Cummiskey/Comiskey. If you know of this family or know a county in the 1700's with Travers family members living there could you please contact me. I have no idea what county they came from in Wales. e mail me at mary@videotron.ca or shu@adelphia.net Thank you.
