after 20 years of substance abuse, I was committed to a treatment facility. 6 mos. in 6 mos. out. There I was introduced to the most rigorous self searching, A.A. N.A., C.A., what a great feeling it was finally understanding addiction. I have relapsed/regenerated a couple times after that. One period lasting several months. Another clean and sober year lies behind me now. I am now enrolled in school. I can't express my gratitude for the people-other recovering addicts/alcoholics- who have give me the tools to become an interdependant human being.
