Subject: Disney Peg-Leg Insignia 1945-46 on USS Princeton

Can you help me identify a Disney-created insignia that was used by the USS Princeton (CV-37) Air Group on it's Far East trip in 1946.

The insignia, depicting Peg-leg Pete with an aircraft carrier under his left arm and a machine-gun for a right leg, was painted on the bulkhead of the gasoline storage tank on the hanger deck when Admiral John Hoskins took comand in November 1945. He lost his leg when the earlier Princeton CVL-23 was sunk during the Battle of Leyte Gulf in October 1944.

I believe that the 81st Squadron was onboard at that time?

Is there a better rendition available? On any information about the insignia?

I will e-mail a black-and-white copy if you give me your e-mail address.
