Not sure why it didn't sell. However, the size (3.5") could be a clue. Most W.W.II era jacket patches, Navy as well as AAF, are 5" across. Maybe this along with the twill construction and finished edge point towards a later and less desirable date of manufacture - possibly Korean War.

Nevertheless, its a very nice design and patch.
