Subject: Jd. Air Regulating Squadron 2 - Nov 1943

Was wondering if anyone could help me find info on my dad's unit during WWII in the South Pacific. He was assigned to the Air Regulating Squadron 2 in November 1943. He was in the field on the Mentaka January 1944. He was brought back to the US (San Francisco) via USS Orizaba from Noumes, New Caldonia, 7 Mar 44. Do not know why he was returned to the states so early. I have his Marine Corp file stating such, but having difficult time finding info on this Squadron. Trying to locate info on him since he died before I was 2 years old. Can anyone help?
