hi there,my dad owns 3 ww2 jeeps,two are going and regestered,one is going to be restored..we do the anzac parade in our home town every year.im in australia,and one of our old diggers told me a story about himself and 4 of his mates.They were in tobrook in the desert,having a breake after fighting against Rommel...after a meal and a drink they all commented about all the vehicals lying around the place,so one of the guys says how about a race.So they all got into anything that was still able to drive and made out a race track..there were german kublewagons,staff cars jeeps,motorbikes..so a couple were in kublewagons and jeeps and lined up on the starting line.another guy shot his pistol in the air ,and they were off.He told me some of the vehicals had no brakes,and one guy found that out hitting a parked truck,he was allright ,so the others were racing around the track when all of a sudden a german ME109 came out of nowhere,this fighter pilot never fired ,but he kept circling around the race track just to watch the race..all the guys in the race coundnt belive this german plane never shot at them.so when they finished there race the fighter pilot tilted his wings at them and flew away.I think that story is just one of the best ive ever heard,i hoped u liked it as much as i do....rod handsaker ,australia............
