The seasons newcomers the University Wolves put paid to the tanking theories by disposing of 2nd placed Wakky races on the weekend. The Cartoons were no match for the students, who despite playing a man short again, lifted themselves off the bottom of the ladder via a 33 point victory.

The loss consigns the cartoons to a sudden death final next week, after being contenders for top spot earlier in the year.

Gunners coach Horse Longman was philisophical about his sides end to the season saying that for his men "the season starts now". The Gunners at one stage led the competition by as much as 3 games, have clearly choked at the business end and have given the up the minor premiership without a wimper.

Meanwhile the Groovers have jumped from 3rd to take out the minor premiership on the back of a stunning effort last quarter effort that saw the Animals kick 11 goals to 6, to run out easy 5 goal winners.

DARK PARK CELEBRATES AND ITS LIGHTS OUT LAXATIVES

The boys from Dark Park did their bit on Saturday night in front of a capacity crowd of 700. They gave the Laxatives the run around to the tune of 15 points.

Having done their part of the equation it was a nervous wait for the results of Sunday afternoons game to determine if they were going to be able to defend their premiership with a finals appearance.

NAVY'S NOTHING SEASON ENDS AS PISS POTS HAVE LAST GASP WIN
McHales Navy 23 18 156 lost to Elliots Last Shout 24 16 160

With everything to play for on Sunday, the Navy entertained traditional rivals the Piss Pots at McHales stadium in front of a packed house. Expectations were that this would be a comfortable win for Jocks men who were playing a side that had absolutely nothing to play for.

The Piss Pots had other ideas and took the game up to the Navy right from the start, led by Jonothan Brown who slotted home a lazy 6 goals. The game was tight all day and in the end, a late snap from Brett Kirk in time on sealed the Navy's fate. The Piss Pots by 4.

Fans knew what the result meant, and instantly turned on the club administration. Led by their spiritual leader Fast Eddie, and backed up by his side kick Jaffa Lolly, fans demanded changes. Screamed Eddie, we've had enough of mediocrity. The fans are screaming for change, and next year we will have a new coach, new administration and a new training facility located at the newly refurbished Leaches Centre. This will be a new beginning for this club.
