Welcome To My Discussion Area "Dr. Watson, Mr. Sherlock Holmes"
With these words a medical student named Stamford, performed the most historic introduction in fictional literature. While there are most certainly other important meetings in fictional literature, such as Romeo's first glance upon Juliet in Romeo & Juliet, and D'Artagnan's initial confrontation with the Three Musketeers, to name but two. None are as important, for not only is Sherlock Holmes the most famous character in detective mystery fiction, he is the most famous character in all fiction!
Here we Sherlockians can play "The Game", that is we assume a serious and scholarly posture, declaring that Holmes, Watson, and everybody else actually existed and that Sir Arthur Canon Doyle was merely Watson's literary agent.
