Subject: aggression

We have two boxers, both rescues, Ernie our 12 yr old male and Na our 3 yr old Deaf female. Ernie is the most lovable senior citizen and we thought we'd get a companion for him. We got Na when she was 6 months and even thou she was so playful Ernie still tolerated her. Na has over the years attacked Ernie several times, no real blood on them, but Ernie is wary of her. I thought I'd done everything, I feed Ernie first, Na sits and waits for comand. Ernie always gets a treat first, Na has to shake for her treat. Ernie is greeted first in the morning and when we come home. Na has obedience training where she does very well and shows no aggression towards the other dogs. Na seems to be attacking Ernie more often, and even thou I can see it coming and stop it, my wife doesn't usually see the signs. Ernie and Na can be laying on the floor sleeping next together one minute and five minutes later she maybe preparing to jump on him. Does anyone have any suggestions?
