Hallelujah! -- MacMackenzie, 12:54:34 04/23/05 Sat
OH MY GOD!!! My heart literally dropped in my shoes, and I truly screamed when I heard him tell her "I Love You Mac". Never, never, ever in a million years did I think he would ever say that to her (AND THAT KISS...my god it's a wonder the two didn't go up in flames right there on the spot..and they are oh-so-conveniently sitting on a BED!!). I swear, my dad looked at me like I'd lost my mind and my mom came rushing into the living room because she thought something was wrong LOL!!! Did you guys hear him say, "Let's get married"???? I screamed so loud after he told her he loved her that I completely missed that last line. I heard it after I immediately went back and replayed the promo LOL (and screamed again). But like DAR, I am terrified that something is going to happen to destroy it. Remember last year when the season 9 finale promo said that one of the characters was pregnant, and showed Mac in a hospital gown. You never know what DPB will do, perhaps he will give us shippers the ending we deserve.
I think one of them is going to resign from the military, and I think it's going to be Harm. I feel this way because now he has Mattie to take care of, hopefully he and Mac are together, and that's a long way to be away from the two of them. I think he and Mattie and Mac are going to live together in SD where Mac will be stationed. It makes more sense for him to resign being that his new station is in London. I don't think he woudl abandon Mattie like that, and she needs the therapy and recooperation at the hospital.
So, I am waiting with baited breath on the series finale. I am so glad I recoreded the episode on DVD (I got a DVD recorder for my b-day) because I would have worn out the tape already lol!!! I hope Harm and Mac do get together, and they move with Mattie to SD.

- MacMackenzie and P, do you both think Tom (Mattie's Dad) will "buy the farm" next week? Or will temporary custody be assigned to Harm? P, as far as the pension, Mac would pull down way more than that in private practice, so maybe it's not such an issue. 4 years apart, when they have waited so long... I understand what you are saying about pension, but between Harm, Mac and Harm's inheritance from Frank and Mom, I think they would not be so pressured to make their life decisions based upon one pension. (NT) -- Lucky., 14:15:25 04/23/05 Sat
- Points of Clarification. Harm graduated from the USNA in 1985. He eligible for 20 year retirement on or about 1 June 2005. His retired pay then is 50% of his base pay averaged over the last 3 years of active duty. Since he doesn't have 3 years as a permanent O-6, her retires as an O-5. That is a living wage in parts of the country (not DC), but is like $33,000, not $60,000. If one separates, it should be Harm since Mac doesn't have 20 years in to be eligible for retirement pay and benefits. (NT) -- Bingo, 00:30:46 04/24/05 Sun

I've actually found a Jag related book written by a real life Jag attorney. The title is Treason, the author is Don Brown and it's the first in the Navy Justice Series through Zondervan Publishing. It's about a Jag attorney prosecuting Naval Personnel with ties to terrorism. Very good book, reminded me a lot of the TV series. There's even a small NCIS tie-in.

Last night's case -- peter, 15:50:22 04/16/05 Sat
I thought it was interesting in how they tried to resolve the case last night.
Bud coming up with the inventory of drugs requested every month.
He tried to pass the buck and fault the Captain, whose lack of attention to detail cause him to request too little of the drug.
But who's to say he ordered the drugs. He just signed off on it. It was probably a enlisted Pharmacy Tech who made the mistake.
It didn't really change anything. The Captain probably has much more experience dealing with very bad burns.
He probably knew the girl was going to die regardless of what drug they use to relax the girl so that they could tube her.
The yound doctor probably thought she was Hawkeye Pierce.
The ending only serve to give her a way out. That everyone can make a mistake.
It made for good relations saying I disobeyed orders because we're suppose to be helping the people here.
But as Harm pointed out about following orders. There are reasons why the military does things the way they do. They have been doing it for over a hundred years.
They know what works best. In this case given a valuable drug to a child who is badly burn was not going to save the girl's life.
It's only purpose was to make the doctor feel good that she did everything possible.
I do find one thing interesting. I don't know if Harm lost the case last night, but when you include it with Harm losing nest week to Bud and having his run in with Sturgis, and Mattie being severely hurt
Harm is leaving JAG on a very sour note.
Not a way to thank a guy who made you millions of dollars for ten years.

The peole running Jag inhaled something too much with this stupid decisions. And they're back with their Harm and Mac stunts again.

Jag tonight -- peter, 22:48:42 04/15/05 Fri
Last week they had two of the best stories all year.
This week Harm and Mac were facing off in the courtroom, it should have been the main story taking up at least 75% of the show.
Instead it was regulated to the back burner. Harm still mad at the world. Mac is reaching out to him and he's being an ass.
If there was a time when one needs support from a love one, now is the time.
It's one thing to love someone elses child. But it's another to throw away the love of the person you care about most because you don't know how to accept love.
I think that's Harm's real legacy, He doesn't know how to accept love after his father went MIA.
He never really accepted Frank. He might love his mother, but wants nothing to do with her. We only saw her twice in ten years.
Hell we saw Big Bud and mental midget Mikey numerous times.
Hell even Coates couldn't reach him.
It was a good court case, but was way too short. Very surprise that Mac and Bud gave up so easily.
As for the other story, what a waste of TV time.
This is what DB had hope to give us next year?
The acting was horrible. Sure blondie came up with some good lines, but at best she's a D rated actor. She couldn't make Vukosuck look good.
If anything she made him look bad.
DB overplayed his hand here. He showcased Vukosuck to often. He gave CBS too much of an opportunity to see how really bad Jag was going to be next year.
Successful shows need people who are characters. Characters that one can identify with, get emotionally involved with.
He had that with Harm and Mac, and to a lesser extent Bud and Harriet. He also had good people like AJ, Jason, Jen, and even Gunny who added something special to the show that made us love Harm and Mac even more.
As much as I love Kate and Tony's bantering, they come across more as two people as they get to know each other become good friends, but not necessary anthing more.
They probably represent DB's ideal of what he wants in a male/female relationship.
Harm and Mac's relationship was always special. They were two people who love each other, but also love being together. They made each othe better, they made each other whole.
Their relationship was special. Something that doesn't come along everyday.
I don't think we'll see anything like it for a long time to come.
Wouldn't it be interesting if Elliot comes up with a new show base on Harm and Mac in private practice ten year down the road with two or three kids.
Maybe he can sort of rewrite history the way we all wanted it, and I'm sure he wanted it.
But I'm sure in the future if he ever acts again it will be with his wife.
Only one real good momnet came. it was at minute 59.
They show a preview in ghostly fashion of Harm and Mac moving in for a kiss.

- I too thought Harm/Mac had a more interesting case and would have loved to see more of it. Perhaps DB wanted to so a "Blues" episode, but using Vukovic? The guy couldn't emote to save himself! If DB wants to push JAG: The Next Generation as us, the least he could do was to write the characters in a flattering way and to get some people who can act. As it stands, I can barely stand the ditzy Graves, but Vukovic, Coates, Mickey, and the general's daughter -- collectively and individually -- make me want to hurl. For once I am not begrudging a network for cancelling a show that I watch. (NT) -- Kit, 14:07:34 04/16/05 Sat

I'm really confused about how I feel about the finale tonight. In a sense I'm excited because I really do think things might turn out okay (if you watched the ep tonight you might understand - I don't want to bother going inside but I don't want to spoil anyone either, so if you watched until 10 tonight you might get it) but anyways I'm also sad because it's the end of my favorite show ever. I've never liked a show as much as JAG, it's so awesome. I know the "I'm going to stop watching" gets thrown around alot here but we all have to admit that we looked up this board because we thought JAG was awesome. So anyways. I'm excited, but sad. It'll be kind of bittersweet (or it could be just bitter depending on how DPB's romantic bone is feeling, if he has one...) and I'll actually probably cry, LOL. But then I cry at JIF commercials.
One more thing I have to say:
I'M GOING TO FANFEST EAST AGAIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!
It was my mom's birthday present to me. When is the season finale - in 2 weeks or 3 or 4? It would be so cool if it was the weekend we were in DC. Anyways see you guys later - literally, if you're going to fanfest east! :)

If you don't want to know what happens in the last episode, don't read any further, but if you're interested, here are some tidbits...
1) Thanks to the miracle of hair transplants, a long-haired and bearded AJ Chegwidden makes a cameo appearance in a Boston Red Sox jersey and bearing a remarkable resemblance to Johnny Damon...
2) John Farrow arrives carrying a large butterfly net holding Mac's lost train ticket...
3) Newly appointed Judge Jason Tiner arrives to overturn all JAG verdicts for the past 10 years, not because they are unconstitutional, but because they are just plain dumb...
4) Renee shows up with a dark-haired, handsome 3-year old boy, whom she introduces as "Harmon Rabb Junior Junior"...
5) And in the last scene of the series, Harm wakes up in bed, rolls over and there's Meg Austin - he says "You'll never believe the dream I had!"

JAG" TO END ITS TOUR OF DUTY ON CBS ON APRIL 29
Released by CBS
"JAG" TO END ITS TOUR OF DUTY ON CBS ON APRIL 29
Series Will Conclude After 10 Years with 227 Missions in the Field
CBS and Paramount Network Television have jointly announced that the final episode of JAG, the longest running military drama on television with 10 seasons and 227 episodes to its credit, will be broadcast on Friday, April 29, 2005 (9:00-10:00 PM, ET/PT).
"In my opening days at CBS, we needed to rebuild; we needed compelling, well-produced shows that would appeal to a wide audience," said Leslie Moonves, Co-President, Co-Chief Operating Officer of Viacom and Chairman, CBS. "JAG was one of the first series to fill that void, making an immediate impact on Friday nights. When we moved it to Tuesday nights in 1997, it played a key role in CBS's positive sea change in the ratings war. Since then, JAG has been one of the cornerstones of our schedule and a very influential part of the Network’s turnaround. CBS is proud to have been JAG's home for nine seasons and we salute the incredible talents and accomplishments of Don Bellisario, the cast and its crew."
David Stapf, President of Paramount Network Television, said: "For a decade, JAG has been an important part of the fabric of Paramount. Don Bellisario is a master storyteller and a producer with one of the most envied track records in television. He assembled an extremely talented cast and staff and, while we know we will be able to enjoy their work for years through syndication, we now bid 'good-bye' to this highly compelling series. We are grateful for everyone's contributions."
"We've had an amazing run, particularly for a series that was once cancelled,” said Donald P Bellisario, creator/executive producer. “Over the last 10 years we have had an opportunity to shine a spotlight on our armed forces and call attention to issues of significant importance to our country as well as the men and women who serve it. I want to acknowledge the amazing team responsible for JAG, most of whom have been with us for the entire run. The cast, writers, producers, directors, editors and crew have earned, as it is signaled in the Navy, a 'Bravo Zulu' for their outstanding work. We owe a special thanks to the United States Navy and Marine Corps for their cooperation, to CBS and Paramount for being great partners and to our fans who have been waiting for nearly a decade to see if Harm and Mac get together. To them I say 'fair winds and following seas."
JAG is military-speak for Judge Advocate General corps, the elite legal wing of officers trained as lawyers who investigate, prosecute and defend those accused of crimes in the military, including murder, treason and terrorism. Over the past nine seasons, Navy Cmdr. Harmon "Harm" Rabb, an ace pilot turned lawyer, and Marine Lt. Col. Sarah "Mac" MacKenzie, a beautiful by-the-book officer, have been colleagues with the same high standards who would clash when they chose different routes to get the job done. The unmistakable chemistry between them has been held at bay for professional reasons, but in the final episode, due to a bombshell dropped by General Cresswell, they are forced to face those feelings once and for all.
After one season on NBC, JAG premiered on CBS on January 3, 1997, airing on Fridays (9:00-10:00PM, ET/PT), then moved to Tuesdays (8:00-9:00PM, ET/PT) in the second season on the Network. It moved to its current timeslot, Fridays (9:00-10:00PM, ET/PT) last season.
Over the years, Bellisario, who is a former Marine, has arranged for the production to film on many locations, lending authenticity to the series, including Australia, where they filmed the 100th episode, Washington, D.C., Camp Pendleton, Pt. Mugu and North Island Naval Air Station military bases in California, and on active aircraft carriers at sea. Bellisario also strives for military accuracy in the actors' portrayals. From the haircuts and the snappy salutes to the way the uniforms are worn and the way the actors behave while in uniform, attention is paid to every detail.
Syndicated episodes of JAG can be seen on the Hallmark Channel and USA Network.
The series stars David James Elliott as Cmdr. Harmon Rabb Jr., Catherine Bell as Lt. Col. Sarah MacKenzie, Patrick Labyorteaux as Lt. Cmdr. Bud Roberts, Scott Lawrence as Cmdr. Sturgis Turner, David Andrews as Major General Gordon "Biff" Cresswell, Zoe McLellan as P.O. 1st Class Jennifer Coates and Chris Beetem as Lt. Gregory Vukovic. Past regular cast members include John M. Jackson as Adm. A.J. Chegwidden, Karri Turner as Lt. Harriet Sims, Chuck Carrington as P.O. Tiner and Randy Vasquez as Gunnery Sgt. Victor 'Gunny' Galindez.
Recurring cast members included Stephen Culp as Special Agent Clayton Webb, Trevor Goddard as Lt. Cmdr. Michael “Mic” Brumby, Michael Bellisario as Midshipman Mike “Mikey” Roberts, Paul Collins as Secretary of the Navy Nelson and Nanci Chambers, Elliott's wife, as Lt. Loren Singer.
Guest stars on the series included: Gloria Allred, Corbin Bernsen, Rudy Boesch, Ernest Borgnine, Dr. Joyce Brothers, Johnnie Cochran, Ossie Davis, Dale Dye, Gladys Knight, Mary Hart, Isabella Hoffmann, Joe Lando, Gavin McLeod, Gerald McRaney, Oliver North, Terry O'Quinn, Bill O'Reilly, Christina Pickles, Francesco Quinn, Doug Savant, John Schneider, Robert Stack, Dean Stockwell, Dee Wallace Stone, Lyman Ward, Bruce Weitz, Mae Whitman, Montel Williams, Trisha Yearwood, Ian Ziering and Barry Zito.
JAG has received three ASCAP awards for music, and has received Emmy Awards for costuming and editing as well as multiple Emmy Award nominations for musical score, costuming and cinematography. JAG has received the Jewish Image Award, a PRISM Award and the Red Cross Spirit Award. David James Elliott won a TV Guide Award for Favorite Actor in a Drama for the 1999-2000 season. That same year, Catherine Bell was honored with the Spirit of Hollywood Award for Television.
Donald P. Bellisario is the creator and executive producer of the series. Charles Floyd Johnson, Steven Zito and Dana Coen are co-executive producers. JAG is produced by Belisarius Productions, in association with Paramount Network Television.
