He predicted a UC loss by 2 today, and when they win by 10 he goes into a rant about how overrated they are and how they haven't beaten anybody, even though they just got done beating Top 35 RPI team. All this after making a post titled, ironically, people expect to much. Here's the post:

http://voy.com/14108/12169.html

I went and looked at the top twenty teams and who they've played and found some interesting scores.

#2 (in the AP poll) Kansas
vs. Tulsa 93-85 win
vs. Valparaiso 81-73 win
both games were at home....not very convincing.

#10 Arizona
vs. Oregon lost 80-90
@ Washington State (161 in the rpi) won 92-85
@ Washington (72 in the rpi) won 74-69

#6 Oklahoma
vs. La. Tech (106 in the rpi) won 71-67 in overtime

#3 Maryland
vs. Clemson (104 in the rpi) won 99-90 (had them at home)

and our other favorite local team, Xavier
vs. Richmond won 72-62
@ George Washington won 71-63
@ LaSalle won 71-67
@ UD won 66-59
vs. Siena (230 in the rpi) 68-59 had them in the Cintas Center.......

Read ESPN.com today....huge story about the SEC and how much parity there is..........which is basically true about all of college basketball.

UC plays poorly against a jacked up St. Louis team and still wins by 4 on the road. Doesn't look any different than some of the other scores above.

When you're the best team in your conference (UC and Xavier).....the other teams, whether they're in second, third, or last place will get geared up and play their best game against you. You have a mark on your back and everyone is gunning for the big upset.

UC didn't play well offensively last night, but their defense and Maxiell's rebounding carried them....and that's a good thing. Night in and night out, you're not going to shoot the ball well...and you'll have one of those 25% or 35% FG shooting percentage nights where everything rims out and you can't buy a basket. Last night was just that sort of test and UC proved they could win on the road despite not being able to score very well. St. Louis was hot in the first half and UC shut them down.

I'm glad they had a close game. I think it will wake them up for South Florida. I'd rather have a bad game against St. Louis now, so that we'll snap out of our funk and be ready for South Florida. We will be ready.

They were ready for the most part by the way, and beat a pretty good South Florida team on their home gym. South Florida gave us their best shot and UC still found a way to win with 3 double figure scorers.
