Subject: Why do so many people conside Alex M. a BB guru...?
In reply to: Cat's Claw 's message, "Alex Meacham on Lance's show today" on 16:50:29 01/30/02 Wed

I don't have anything against Alex Meachum, but why are people so interested in a 23 year old ex-walkon's opinions about basketball? Because Alex is an assistant coach on some decent high school team, he's now John Wooden?

If a UC loss at Marquette causes the Bearcats to "doubt themselves," then this team isn't very good anyway. How many undefeated NCAA BB champs have there been since Wooden retired from UCLA? One? Somebody is losing games now and then and able to rebound and win championships.

I've heard Coach Huggins say nothing is learned from losing and he ought to feel that way-until he loses. Plenty of teams are losing occasionally, and it's not preventing them from having great success.
