it provides a much needed laugh after my yesterday. you might remember my post in the jungle earlier this year about the worsening condition and possible prospects of having to put my dog frankie down. well, it happened yesterday. there was an accident yesterday morning that made the harsh reality of what had to be done all too clear. unfortunately, i wasn't around and had already left for work. my parents made the tough decision and took him in. while i hated like hell not being there, it would have been stupid to make him suffer for that sole reason.

it saddens me to no end. i knew it was coming and i made my peace as best i could facing the prospect from before. we held off until his quality of life had clearly eroded. i'm a bit worried maybe we held on for a bit too long out of selfishness and fear of the decision. however, it's all for naught now considering it's done. it remains difficult all the same.

your stories were a bit of good timing, though. it's nice to hear tender moments like those you mention reminding that to experience the summer days of smiles, we sometimes must travel through two hurricanes of winter emotion.

take care of yourselves,

chamberlain
