we got our little plot of backyard here in Brooklyn (notice I now call it a "plot") and I laid down sod (about the only laying I'm doing these days - or the only laying that occupies more than a couple of minutes at a time) for about 100 square feet. Sod is notoriously endangered in Brooklyn backyards - usually doesn't make it.

Anyway, we're watering it everyday and making sure no one walks on it for three weeks. We had a couple of couples and their kids over for Father's Day yesterday, and at one point I yelled, "Hey kid, get off my grass!" Woo boy, how old and crusty did I sound? Oh and later, I caught two of them microwaving red hots. I actually said, "The microwave is not a TOY!"

It can't be long before my shorts are hiked up to my armpits and I'm heading to Sizzler for dinner at 4:30pm.
