Subject: 2o18 Bengals deja vu of 1st year of Dalton/Green 'era'
In reply to: coyotyl 's message, "no really, i'm checking in here from time to time ..." on 19:17:05 07/08/18 Sun

… similar under-the-radar 'reboot' vibe i'm feeling here. Palmer's drama then led to an instant write off of that team's prospects. Ironic that the current writeoff of Dalton (mostly due to OL woes of the Ogbuehi/Fisher draft experience), which a successful rebuild & new coach will *need* to fix would mean a 'new' Dalton/Green
era redux).

Mixon will be playing the 'bell cow' feature back role that Ced Benson did, then. Lots of 'under the radar' personnel upgrades possible that national writers just don't know about (or totally dismiss):

Eifert (if healthy)
Billings (seems to be 'fully recovered' & progressing well in camp + DL rotational depth seems to be upgraded here as well)
John Ross
Iloka (brainfry convinced he was 'secretly' hurt/injured all last year, contributing to his apparent decline)
Lawson's feature role continuing to expand

Lots of 'ifs' that i see possibly going the right way(s) here. Lucky they open @Indy & then with Baltimorgue at home i'm thinking. Newly tweaked schemes on both offense & defense may work in the Bengals' advantage due to lack of preparatory game film for opponents' study.

Should be 2 early slugfests in which the 'slugging' will be a la the garden variety. Even minus Burfict the D may end up being what carries the Stripes in these 2 early (prospective) wins out of the chute ...?
