We're trying to at least let him know that things have value related to work (i.e. if he ruins the table cloth, then he can't go to as many baseball games, and that we go to work to earn money so he can live in this house, etc), but it's pretty fuzzy for him. He doesn't understand why he can't just have everything he wants.

DH and I have talked about an allowance for treats, but the real problem is the whole instant vs. delayed gratification thing. He wants BOTH!
