Subject: Update on my visit with DH this weekend! (m, obviously!)

Kind of hard to sum up all the feelings of the weekend, but let's suffice it to say I felt just about every emotion known to man over a period of three days! lol It was WONDERFUL to be with him again...I didn't realize how much I had missed his touch until I saw him. It was like neither of us could get enough hugs or kisses! Zachary was elated to see Daddy...so much so, that the night before we left, he didn't go to sleep until 11:30, then woke up again at 4:00am, and after half an hour of my trying everything to get him back to sleep, I just let him stay up and watch cartoons til the rest of us got up! lol

My in-laws got on my nerves quite a bit; mainly for expecting Zachary to behave like a 12 year old instead of a preschooler. And they didn't really give me and Donnie any downtime, but that's ok because Donnie is pretty sure that we can come see him again this weekend!!! I really hope it happens!

It was hard leaving Donnie behind again. Where he is is SO depressing, and his morale was not what I'd hoped it would be. It took a full 24 hours before he seemed like himself again, and in the last few hours we spent together Sunday, it was like he started putting the walls up again. I know he HAS to do this, switch to an entirely different mentality while he's there, but it's still hard to witness it and see how much stress they have him under. Still no definite confirmation of what they are doing next, or when. Zachary was also very subdued all day Sunday. I kept feeling of his forehead and asking if he felt well, because he was behaving like he does when he's getting sick. But he was fine, physically. It was the first time I ever saw him acting depressed...which was a very helpless feeling for me. I think part of his mood was heightened by the behavior of my in-laws, though. They rode his case all weekend about every little thing he did, refused to play with him when he asked, etc. I should've told them to give the poor boy a break!

Anyway....we're back home now and if they let us, we'll be going to see him every weekend until the situation changes. I'm trying to find a hotel with a kitchenette so I can cook at least once or twice for him...he said he really misses my cooking, and eating out like we did this weekend got very expensive!

Thanks for reading!

Kari
