Subject: Update on Jon being teased at school. . .(m)

Ok, so yesterday I figured I'd try to give Jon a break from school a little and asked my parents if they'd pick him up early. So they did, and he got to ride his bike and play outside in the 70-80 degree weather. Anyhow, he talked to my mom about the kids teasing him. Apparently they tease him about the way he talks sometimes. I guess at times he may have trouble saying something, or getting it out just right, or some trouble with a word, and the kids tease him about that. Well, my mom is right, he shouldn't have to deal with that at school. So, I think I'll try talking to his teacher about this. I may just point out that a couple of the boys are doing this and not mention names. Honesty, I don't remember the names. Well, I had a chat with Jon about how sometimes kids will put someone else down to make themself look good, and that they are just mean at times. I told him he's very smart and he shouldn't let anyone make him think differently. It seemed like a good conversation.

Oh, we had a couple of cry incidents too, but I think I handled them well. When he calmed down the one time I told him, "I know that upset you but I can talk to you about it much better when you aren't crying." He agreed that was true. Maybe we are onto something here. Thanks again for all the advice and opinions yesterday.
