Subject: I think that making him take it back and appologize will be enough (m)

I really think that as bright as they are, kids this age don't quite get that things aren't just there for the taking. Gavi brought home toys from school once, and we made him take them back, give them to the teacher and appologize, after getting a lecture on how it's wrong to take things that aren't yours, etc, etc. It hasn't happened again.

If the kids have an allowance, perhaps tell Aodhan that he needs to pay off the price of the toy by having it taken from his allowance, or by having to do extra chores. That might give him a sense of value - i.e. that the toy isn't just there for the taking.

I'm sure he's not a master criminal!
