Unfortunately I have seen it. To clarify, when I speak of "emergency responders", I am quite familiar with it cause I have been doing it for nearly 10 years. When an entire road is closed for 3 hours and Department of Environmental Protection and Firefighters are in full haz-mat suits cause there are battery components (fluids, etc)EVERYWHERE, trust me, it's no fun. All from a hybrid getting rear-ended, and then catching fire (the car that hit it actually is what ignited the fire, but still.)

I guess to emphasize my original point, with all the underlying *potential* dangers when involved in an accident, the high cost(s), and really NOT saving that much fuel, combined with the "utility" of the vehicle getting sacrificed in the process....then, well, what good is it? No good to me, that's for sure .
