Subject: E Brake

Since you guys helped me so much with changing the resister on my 2000 xterra (thank you :), i am turning to you with another recent problem. My Ebrake is broke. I brought it to the dealer today (since it rolls freely when engaged). He told me that it is completly corroded & engaged. He said it would take a commitment on my part of up to 2K as worse case scenario. He said that there are 20-25 parts from front to back. He said that they might brake while fixing the cable. Has anyone ran into this? Any suggestions? If this is engaged is it ruining my rear drums?
