I had two customers who lived in Iceland buy used Altimas from me online, without ever seeing the cars in person. They both said it was because of crash-worthiness. One of them had totalled a US spec Altima, and said if he had been in one of the cars that everyone else drove over there he would be dead.

I once tried to import right hand drive cars into the US for use as mail-delivery vehicles when I found out that a lot of mail carriers had to buy their own and nobody was making right hand drive anymore. What killed it was the crash-worthiness. There are all these hidden things that US cars must have that most other countries don't require.
