Thank you very much for the information.

WRT the potential problem with the speed sensor, I read on other message boards about people that had similar symptoms as my vehicle and when they cleaned the front speed sensors the ABS light stopped coming on. I might try electrical contact cleaner on a soft cloth and see if that solves the problem.
