Sure. Seems to me the silent part of it is an easier problem to tackle.

I gave it some thought, and it seems to me that that both are moot points. Sooner or later- the oil has to run out. Then cars will all run on electricity from batteries. And those batteries will be charged from the grid. The grid will get its juice from coal, (which there is far more left of than oil), and solar power, (handily our most plentiful energy source).

As it stands right now, commercial solar plants can produce electricity at a slightly higher cost than oil. And as the cost of commercial solar comes down, as it surely will, and as oil goes way up, as IT surely will, solar will soon be cheaper.

No matter what a bunch of characters on a message board think. :-)
