Nissan North America Announces November Sales

FRANKLIN, Tenn., Dec 02, 2008 /PRNewswire-FirstCall via COMTEX/ -- Nissan North America, Inc. (NNA) today reported sales for November of 46,605 units versus 80,683 units a year ago, a decrease of 42.2 percent. Sales of Nissan Division vehicles decreased 44.4 percent, while sales of Infiniti vehicles decreased by 28.0 percent.
NISSAN HIGHLIGHTS
-- Nissan vehicles saw sales of 38,974 units in November compared with 70,079 units sold in November 2007, a 44.4 percent decrease. "

The ripple effect is the killer. So many businesses depend upon the auto industry. For example, it's one of the few things keeping newspapers afloat. (Take away the advertising revenue from car dealerships and the outlook is grim. Just look at the classified section of any newspaper today, and see what's left.)

If a dealership that sells 100 cars a month suddenly starts to sell 50 cars a month- how many employees do they need? How many employees do the finance companies need? How about all the companies that do aftermarket items like sunroofs and ad-on DVD players? Suddenly, thousands and thousands of companies only need half the employees. IF they can stay in business.


I've never seen anything like this. And it effects everyone in America.
