Subject: John Smith, Cwmtillery and Abertillery

Hello. Does anyone still living in the Abertillery area have my grandfather in their family 'tree'?

John Smith, born Old Row, Cwmtillery, 1871.

He spent his final years with his daughter, Maria Coles, in Alma Street, Abertillery and died there in 1942. He had a number of half-brothers and sisters called Partridge - one was Joseph Partridge who kept a local shop. He also had a number of Smith half-brothers and sisters - one, Arthur Emanuel Smith, kept a shop in Blackwood. I would like to learn more about my grandfather's early life after his mother died. I believe he spent some years in America. If anyone has any information then I will be very pleased to hear from them.
