dear kristin, a horse may very. you can expect to pay 0-5000$ for a horse trailer to transport a horse from the vet or take it to different events(if your wanting a raceing horse etc.) for your first horse, you want a horse around 6 years old or more so that it's already trained to not knock you off and will forgive you for makeing foot mistakes when leading him/her. i'm 13, i own 4 horses and i love them very much. i've been riding since i was 4 when my parents got me my first horse. but you also have to think about the cost of a barn for the horse if you haven't got one already. that costs about 2 to 3 thousand. depending on what you would like to make the barn out of. you have to also look at the cost of the saddle 50-1000$, bit50-100$, reigns 50-75$, the brushes10-20$, feed 75-100 a month, hay 50-60 a month, also a blanket for the winter 20-400$, ne treats he/she might need(including vitamins). also vet bills. vet bills could range any where from 500-2000$ atleast. so hopefully you'll take care of it very well so you won't have to pay doctor bills. also dental hieghne. and if you want a foal, doctor bills for updated shots. hope i could help for your future dream of raising horses. remember, save up and you'll get what you want =)
love, shelby
