My name is Robert Lemasters, I have a very old French book of heraldry, dated 1622, brought over by my Lemasters (LeMaitre) family ancestors. The bookk, heavy leather, large and printed on linen rag paper is in great condition, our name listed is Lemaitre(also in old family bible) our coat of arms is described with hundreds of old French families is Azur De Or Tres Fonces, as I remember as the book is in storage in my attic, which is to say a blue shield with three gold flowers of a certain kind...the flower name is in old French which I have seen at a Library (Peabody) in Baltimore...but do not know what would be the modern flower...hope this helps...also have family stories...such as the jewel and gold encrusted glass egg from Venice story that our ancestors when they escaped to America from enemies would break off pieces to live on...etc.
