Subject: Advance recruiting information

With special thanks to Russ Blake. This is the draft of a story he's writting on another DU prospect.

---------

"Ronald Dokes, a 6-8, 235 pound power forward from Lincoln Trail C.C. in Robison, Ill., will officially visit Duquesne University this weekend.

JUCO Junction/Rivalshoops.com caught up with Lincoln Trail Head Coach Rick Arp recently, and he informed us that the Dukes staff has already offered Dokes a scholarship.

Dokes' visit to the Pittsburgh based Atlantic 10 program will last from Oct. 19-21.

In addition to Duquesne, Dokes has been looked at this fall by LaSalle, Western Michigan, Southern Illinois and Illinois-Chicago. Of those schools, the Dukes are the lone one to dangle a scholarship offer to Dokes thus far.

A native of South Bend, Ind., Dokes averaged nine points and 5.5 rebounds per game as a freshman in 2000-2001.

Coach Arp was kind enough to provide us with a scouting report on Dokes, whom we did not see play last season.

"He shoots it well out to 15 feet," the coach said. "He plays physical, but not a consistent 40 minutes of physical. He likes to step out and shoot it, especially elbow jumpers."

Coach Arp said he expects Dokes to sign in the spring and graduate on time in May.

In the interim, JUCO Junction/Rivalshoops.com will keep you abreast of any changes in his recruitment, so stay tuned!"
