The Dukes women's soccer team saw a 2-1 halftime lead diminish as Robert Morris netted three goals over an 11-minute period to take a 4-2 decision over Duquesne Wednesday afternoon on Rooney Field.
Duquesne (1-4-1) got on the board early as Maureen Moran scored off Julie Broden's assist in the fourth minute for a 1-0 lead. Robert Morris' Amy Williams notched an unassisted goal in the 26th minute to tie the game before the Dukes' Lauren Bracco (above, left) snuck in her first goal of the season off a rebounded post shot for the 2-1 halftime lead.
Robert Morris (4-3-0) took control of the second frame scoring unassisted goals in the 60th, 67th and 71st minutes to capture the win.
In goal, Kristin Scharphorn faced 11 shots and recorded four saves while Colonials' keeper Shana Barardi had two saves on 21 shots.
The Dukes are back in action this weekend as they travel to Mississippi State Sept. 28 and Mississippi Sept. 30.
