Subject: With age comes death

Ling and Kato enter, the pups are sleeping @ home, @ the pack. Ling is 14 and Kato is 15, their birthday is the same day though, it is approaching midnight, their birthday. Ling rests her head on Kato's and they watch midnight come, the silver moon over their heads, the peaceful silence where all they hear is a cricket. Midnight comes, Kato is 16 and Ling is 15. They stay out an hour and then they both grow very tired, knowing that soon they will take their last sleep ever, the longest.. Ling sighs, knowing that time is now. In the moonlight you almost see the wolf she once was. Young and restless and active. Now she is 15, she closes her eyes which are the same from the day she was born. Before she goes she turns to Kato, "I love you Kato, with all my heart. The will. The pups. I'll feel no pain,", a bird chirpa and by the time it has finished chirping Ling is dead. She is on the ground, looking smaller for some reason but looks happy. Kato sighs and nuzzles her, his mate of now 11 years. "It's been one good life Ling. I love you." He feels himself getting tired also and he howls, using all his energy "The pups. Read our will on Castle Mountain for the pups. Ryo to Moonshaft. Snow Spirit to Fallen Snow and Lillyella to any kind wolf with a pack, you must consult South Paw first though. And if one of us comes back you must give her to us (read in full on castle mountain)" His voice fades and he nuzzles Ling and lays beside her, wanting to be beside her in death "One great life Ling, great pack and 14 pups.." His voice cuts short when he too, at 16 years old dies..... NO more than 10 mins is past when their 11 grown up pups run in lead by the eldest, Devil's Angel. He nuzzles them and howls, a howl of regret and honour. Moonshaft nuzzles them next, being the eldest daugher she always ahd a special connection with her mum. "Mum, Dad i love you. I've only had you two and my brothers and sisters to love, no mate, no pups. I promise to take good care of Ryo, raise him as you'd want" She cries and her harmonious howl mixes with Devil's Angel's deep one. Dazzlin Starlite pads up. She's deaf but knows what's happening. She nuzzles her parents. A small tear lands on them and she howls too, her howl is deeper than Monnshaft's but is beautiful to hear. Nitefrost pads up next, he nuzzles them both, he's blind but knows where they are. He sighs and bows to them and howls too, his soprano voice mixing. Compass is next,he's a small male but loves his parents so much. He nuzzles them, whining. Not wanting to let them go, they were good, kind wolves with heart's of gold. Eventually he leaves their side and howls, his howl isn't high and isn't low and it mixes perfectly. Gemini is next, she has suffered too much heartache this year but knows she has to say goodbye "Never had a chance to say goodbye to you either... now who'm i gonna go to for advice, comfort... all i wanted was for me and Kaelte to be like you two" she cries and nuzzles them and howls, her voice is sweet and gentle, mixing beautifully. Strength Paw is next, "grandpups you have. And a great-grandpup, Madrina. My pups, Just Paw and the others aren't coming here... too much heartache. They love you though, no more than i do... i hope i made you proud" he nuzzles them affectionately and howls, his howl is very deep like Devil's Angel's. Acacia is next, she nuzzles them, pain surging through her... she cries and howls, her howl is high and bveautiful. Cassie is next, she is strikingly like her mother... she sheds a tear and nuzzles them but knows they wouldn't want her to whimper so her beautiufl howl mixes. Tornado and South Paw come up together. Tornado nuzzles his father and South Paw his mother. South paw promises to make sure Lillyella finds a good home and they howl. Tornado's is low and South Paw's is a bit higher but they all mix. 11 howls mixing to form a perfect choir. After a while Moonshaft and South Paw leave to look after the pups. Cassie goes off to the hunting grounds. Tornado sighs and pads off to be alone and the others pad off to their packs, at least they weren't in pain. THe moonlight shines on Ling and Kato, their wish is that the pups will live good lives. They wrre good wolves, kind, honest and good parents. They never did a single bad thing, they truely were 2 fine wolves and now... they are dead. But their "legacy" lives on, in their pups, grnadpups, great grandpups. They have had fine lives..
